Not quite a white wine, not quite a rosé, I present Blancish, an extended elevage of 2016 sparkling base. Six months in neutral wood on three barrels of Pinot Noir from Sisu Vineyard and what ended up as one and a half barrels of Chardonnay from Beacon Hill Vineyard. These two vineyards literally share the same hillside in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, and in a different world could easily be seen as the same site.
After elevage in barrels, the wine was moved over to a flextank egg for 12 months, where it achieved a clarity and mouthfeel that literally made my assistant Tyler cry two tiny tears the first time he tasted it: one of joy, one of hope. Tyler's really emotional though; I just hope it makes you smile.
